How Long Does Professional Tile and Grout Cleaning Take?
Time Estimates by Room
| Area | Size | Time Estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Single bathroom | 40–80 sq ft | 1–2 hours |
| Kitchen floor | 100–200 sq ft | 1.5–3 hours |
| Master bathroom (floor + shower) | 80–150 sq ft | 2–3.5 hours |
| Entryway/foyer | 30–80 sq ft | 45 min–1.5 hours |
| Whole home | 500–1,500 sq ft | 4–8 hours |
| Outdoor patio | 100–300 sq ft | 2–4 hours |
What Affects the Timeline
Grout condition is the biggest variable. Lightly soiled grout from a well-maintained home takes half the time of heavily neglected grout with years of buildup. Showers take longer per square foot than floors because vertical surfaces require more careful work. Natural stone (travertine, marble) requires gentler treatment and slightly more time.
Add-on services increase the timeline. If you bundle cleaning with color sealing, add 30–60 minutes for the sealer to be applied. Caulking replacement in showers adds another 30–45 minutes.
